The heat stirred
while world tinted to soft crimson hues

ashes and embers danced through a gentle breeze
as the fire twisted and  convulsed

the crackling hisses mocked the serene silence of the night
as the beast whipped its thousand glowing tails about

enchanting the bystanders with its graceful dance
stealing tears from shattered lives with its taunting tongues

a moment to gaze
wrapped in an enternity of guilt

i continued towards my home
and gently placed a hand on the icy lock
trapped comfortably in its oaken door

a silent prayer of thanks
the warmth of security
the solace of asylum

I saw a family's home burn down tonight...
I watched with guilt and fascination as lives were altered beyond repair...
this is their poem...
to claim it as my own would be cruel and unjust...

Wow! The flow of this poem was just awesome. I loved it! Yet it makes me sad for the words build such a good picture. I hope the family was alright.

all of your descriptive words, every time i read them i got chills honestly you created such a vivid picture - almost too vivid, lol. this was wonderful, " fire twisted and convulsed", "rackling hisses mocked the serene silence of the night
as the beast whipped its thousand glowing tails about", "stealing tears from shattered lives with its taunting tongues" <~ those lines were beyond brilliant, and no, i am not "just being nice" honestly was touched by this. :glomp:

v.v. nice work

Hehehe, thank you so much... yes fortunately the family was beyond well... they were almost done building the home... but had yet to move in... so pictures and other irreplacable memories had yet to be moved into the house... the wife was burned while trying to save a box inside the house... but it was nothing severe... the box and its contents sadly sisnt survive... :sadangel:

Good lord its beautiful. I wish you had told me. I love the imagry of the fire as a living creature. "enchanting the bystanders with its graceful dance" Then the end is amazing because you can feel the safety of your house and all you talk of is a lock in the door but you feel the comfort and guilt of it. truely sad but so lovely. I think your wrong, it may be thiers but you made it yours as well.

Wow, impressive. What makes it even stronger is the inspiring, however thoughly tragic, event that you actually witnessed. A lot of deep emotions can be pulled from this poem. I'm not really sure how to constructively critique this. All your words just fit so well ^_^! Ah! Wait! Found something! I believe "enternity" should be eternity. Hehe, had to find something. Anyway, excellent piece.
